Tait’s Tilt Outdoor Steel Kitchen
Melbourne firm Tait specialises in manufacturing outdoor furniture in metal but it wasn’t until designer Justin Hutchinson, from Urban Commons, introduced the company to his “Tilt” concept that they saw how the standard barbecue could be reinvented.
The result is a box made from durable materials including marine grade stainless steel, powder-coated sheet steel and aluminium, finished with slats of treated timber…….
Italian design company Boffi released its first outdoor kitchen at the Milan Furniture Fair in April. Designed by Piero Lissoni, the new kitchen, called “Open”, uses a minimal framework of precision stainless steel with laminated glass shelves and timber tops. The fitout includes a four-burner barbecue, sink and mixer tap, stainless steel drawers and an integrated timber trolley that tucks away under the sink. The overall look is low, sleek and modern, with all electrics and plumbing hidden within the frame.
