Draftsperson – Structural Steel Detailer
We are seeking a Draftsperson to join our busy Hallam office on a full time basis. This is a permanent position with job security for long term employment with a company that has been operating for over 30 years.
The successful applicant must have experience in drafting housing projects using such programs as Auto CAD Structural & Steel Pro. The applicant will also be self motivated and have good communication skills.
You will undertake projects from start to finish and liaise with builders and architects to resolve design issues. (Domestic)

We’re seeking a dedicated Sales Consultant to joint our Internal Sales Team based at our busy Hallam office on a full time basis.
This is a permanent position with job security for long term employment with a company that has been operating for over 30 years.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering inbound phone enquires and orders
- Front counter sales and quoting
- Work as part of a team
- Estimating steel from plans (training provided)
A background in the steel industry and general knowledge of steel is preferred but not essential.
Welder / Boilermaker
We are currently seeking a fully qualified & experienced Welder to join our team based in Hallam on a full time basis.
The applicant must have experience in general and structural steel, be able to read shop drawings and work unsupervised.

Heavy Combination / Heavy Rigid Truck Driver
Melsteel is looking for an experienced Heavy Combination or Heavy Rigid Truck Driver.
Hallam Based – Full Time Position – Immediate Start.
This is a great opportunity to join a local family owned business that has been servicing the steel industry for over 30 years.
Must have Heavy Combination (preferred) or Heavy Rigid licence.
Steel experience and crane ticket preferred.
Factory Hand
We are seeking a Factory Hand / Labourer to join our busy Hallam office on a full time basis.
The successful applicant must be physically fit, self-motivated and have excellent work ethic. The applicant must also be available for an immediate start. Previous experience in the steel industry and a fork lift licence is preferred.
Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week
Hours include: 7am – 3.30pm (Mon – Thurs), 7am – 1pm (Fri)
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Loading/unloading trucks
- Stacking steel
- Customer service
- Normal warehouse tasks
The desired applicant will:
- Be physically fit
- Be self-motivated
- Have good communication skills
