The Structural Steel Fabrication Process
1. Get A Quote
Submit your enquiry on this page or email buysteel@melsteel.com.au and a steel estimator will provide you with a quote.
2. Steel Drafting
Your project will be sent to a designated draftsperson where they’ll work with you to prepare drawings for your project.
3. Fabrication & Steel Finishes
After you’ve signed off on the drawings, your project will then go to our fabrication department and then sent off for priming or galvanising.
4. Site Inspection & Steel Installation
If it’s a supply-only project, we will then deliver and erect your steel to the job site. For installation projects, you’ll be assigned a supervisor who will manage your installation from site inspection, right through to installation.

We utilise an advanced shot blasting machine to prep raw material, uncovering the smoothest surface for advanced pain adhesion. We then coat the materials using Melsteel’s-own Grey Primer, specially formulated to withstand today’s environment.
